Ok, by popular demand, I present to you a tutorial on how to make what are called "image sandwiches." This is a classic effect used on Horseland horse pictures and layouts. You can see it on the blue jumping layout.

We will start with this image:

Once the image is opened in Photoshop, double click on the "Background" layer in the Layers palette to turn it into a layer that can be modified.

Then make a copy of the layer by pressing Control J (Mac: Apple J)

Next, hide the top layer (click the eye next to it) and select the bottom one. Then go to the filters menu, and select Blur > Gaussian Blur, and click OK.

Then turn the top layer back on. Once you have done this, go to a menu at the top left-hand corner of the Layers palette. This is the "Blending Modes" menu. Right now, it should read "Normal." Making sure you have the top layer selected, choose "Darken" from the menu.

Your image should now look like this:

You can also play around with the different blending modes. Different modes will give you different results. Here is what the image looks like if the top layer is put on "Overlay."

Or "Color Dodge"

That's how you create image sandwiches. Hope this has been helpful!
